Ingredients
- 2 ounces of good quality bourbon or rye
- 4 dashes of Angostura Bitters
- 1/2 teaspoon pure maple syrup
- Blood Orange slice (with flesh of fruit)
- Orange peel
- 1 Luxardo maraschino cherry
- Ice

Instructions
Place the blood orange slice in the bottom of an old fashioned glass along with the maple syrup, maraschino cherry and 4 dashes of bitters. Using a muddler, muddle all ingredients together to combine in the glass.Add the bourbon and the ice, and stir with a cocktail spoon about 10 times. This will mix and chill the drink. Using a vegetable peeler or a knife, cut a 2-3 inch piece of the orange peel. Twist the peel to express the oils, then run the peel around the rim of the cocktail glass. Garnish the drink with the peel and serve immediately.
